Yamagata Akakura Onsen Ski Area
This ski resort drew positive praise when it hosted a national giant slalom competition in 2004. The national competition course is ideal for advanced level skiers. There is a beginner-level course, as well as a snowboard park. Head to Akakura Onsen after a day of skiing to refresh.
